Mail Receiving Flower Shop

My daughter is working this summer in a museum, where is at the moment an exhibition of old toys and also doll's houses with hand made furniture. I've always thought that it would be lovely to start to make a doll's house, and now I got an idea to make a small version of it just under a glass cupola. So I bought a cupola and some iron wire and made this!
There is a tiny plastic pot inside both of the vases, so I can fill in little water to be able to use real flowers in them.
- I started to feel that I have to buy a bigger cupola. Let's see what this becomes, at the moment I think it is a small flower shop which also receives mail. :)

A view without cupola.
About the scale: the height of the table is 6 centimeters.

Manuela's and Hard Rock Cafe's Birthday

This is the birthday card I sent to my dear friend Manuela, who loves Hard Rock Cafe. Both she and Hard Rock Cafe are celebrating their 40th birthday this year. - To be exact, Manuela was born 6 days after Hard Rock Cafe was founded. :)

My husband and I happened to visit Amsterdam in the beginning of the summer and bought a t-shirt for my son from Hard Rock Cafe there. After coming home and looking at the paper bag I just HAD to make a card of it for Manuela, though it was a bit belated then.

I succeeded also to buy suitable stamps: they are showing Finnish rock and pop bands from 1980s. They were published already in the beginning of last year, but our post office was luckily still selling them.

I was happy then to hear from Manuela, that she had loved the card! :)

Letter Booklet to Ilona

This is the letter for Ilona, which I made as a small booklet with a small painting of my garden flower pot.

I made the envelope of a paper bag got from Amsterdam.

This was the first time I used the stamps which I had ordered of my own pictures of our cat Killi.
Here is the the whole sheet of the stamps:

Mail Connects

We got a new kitten, Sissi, two weeks ago. She and our older cat, Killi, have got along pretty well, but Killi has been a bit reserved. When I now received two packages in mail and gave the empty boxes to the cats, they finally found something to do together!
- Good mail makes everyone happy! :-)

Purple Coneflower Artistamp

This wonderful card from Elle was waiting for me in our mailbox today! Elle had posted of her Artistamp in her blog earlier http://artofaletter.blogspot.com/2011/06/first-day-of-issue-for-june.html, but luckily I hadn't noticed her posting before receiving the card, so it was such a lovely surprise!

Artistamp is a new kind of mail art for me and I got so happy of receiving the card and additionally learning something new and exciting.
I also have to try something like this one day!

Mailbox Surprise

This picture was in our weekend's newspaper: someone had found a bird nest in his mailbox.

- I love to find mail in my mailbox, but I certainly would love to find baby birds there also!
