To Bianca

This is my latest letter to Bianca.

I made the envelope of a magazine article which had a beautiful picture of red peppers and the story conveniently starting with B.

The note paper has my red watercolor handprint.

To include something pink, I knitted a small heater for the one of her wrists which mostly feels cold in Tasmania! :)

Mirror Art to Miwa

I made this card of a picture which I took in Spring when we visited Edinburgh in Scotland. The picture is from the Camera Obscura and World of Illusions museum, where they had this nice mirror arrangement, where the lights and colors changed all the time and you could see yourself in million couples! I loved to take pictures of that!

To Ilona and Soda

This letter I sent to Ilona. I used the beautiful big stamp got from her to decorate the note papers.
The stamp was a part of the Very Special Giveaway in June from Ilona which I was happy to win http://www.missivemaven.com/2010/06/very-special-giveaway-rubber-stamps-and.html.

For the envelope I used some of my butterfly stamps and one of the leave stamps which also was a part of the giveaway, and then I dropped some water colour over the stampings.
Because the envelope had a bubble wrap inside it, the surface for stamping was very soft, and the borders of the leaf stamp became visible also. That's kind of a failure, but it made the leaf look like it was flattering!

This is the card I made for Soda by water colour. I hope she recognized herself in it when Ilona gave it to her! :-)

From and to PostMuse

This beautiful handmade card came from PostMuse.

I really love the postages, especially the girl with the cat!
- I'm wondering why the American post office has tried to hide the beautiful postages from me by stamping them this heavily! :-)

This is the card I earlier sent to PostMuse. I had flowers in a pot outdoors and I used it as an inspiration for this small aquarelle.

I wanted to continue the flower theme in the envelope, and used a picture cut out of a magazine.

Fiftieth Birthday

I just had my fiftieth birthday, which I and my husband spent in Greece.
Meanwhile I had got several beautiful congratulation postcards:

This one is from Ivana in Czech. I love the cats in the card and the adorable deer stamp on the envelope!

The rest of the cards are from Finland and in Finnish:

Helene Schjerfbeck to Ella

I visited the Retretti summer exhibition "Helene Schjerfbeck and Sisters in Art" http://www.retretti.fi/index.asp?language=2 in Punkaharju, Finland

Schjerfbeck (1862 - 1946) is one of my favorite Finnish artists, so I bought this card of a painting by her.

I used a stamp, which is made of one of her paintings, and glued to the card the ticket to the exhibition, which also has a picture of a part of one of her paintings.
