Colorful Tulip

I made a card by painting a colorful tulip to my new Postcrossing friend Gillian, who likes strong colors and also paints by herself.

I attached a card of a painting by Finnish artist Reidar Särestöniemi (1925-1981) who is famous of his strong colors.

I decorated the envelope with pictures of fabric by Finnish Marimekko http://www.marimekko.com/

p.s. I'm very close to win the photo competition which I mentioned in my previous post, so please go and vote for my picture, picture number 43, in the post http://pienilintu.blogspot.com/2012/03/pehmea.html  in Pienilintu blog! :)
THANK YOU! :)

Happy Birthday Dear Sissi!

Our beloved cat Sissi has her first birthday today.

I took this picture of her less than one year ago when she still lived with her breeder http://www.mustikkatassu.com/zildan/
and we were waiting for getting her home.

The Finnish blog http://pienilintu.blogspot.com/ announced a photo competition with theme "Soft" and I sent Sissi's picture there. Voting started today and is open the whole week. - So if you happen to like the picture, please vote for it! - Competition was open only for Finnish competitors, but voting is open for everyone. Pictures are inside the post http://pienilintu.blogspot.com/2012/03/pehmea.html and the comparative numbers to be voted are on the right sidebar on the blog, Sissi's picture has number 43.

The competition is sponsored by Teippitarha http://www.teippitarha.fi/index.php, a wonderful Finnish shop selling beautiful masking tapes. I just got aware of this and made my first order yesterday, because I could't miss this beautiful postage related tape:

I hope I'll like it as much when I receive it as I like it based on this picture!

To and from Ivana

I liked the deep and dark colors in the painting by Rudolf Kremlicka in Ivana's latest card http://sfimail.blogspot.com/2012/02/happy-valentines-day.html and got an idea to use deep and dark colors also in my painting.

The speech bubble connected to the stamp says "You are star!".

Speech bubbles are part of the lovely stamp booklet "Fantastic Women" (based on cartoon women Maisa and Kaarina by designers Tiina Paju and Sari Luhtanen) published about an year ago.

This beautiful view card of Brno arrived from Ivana.
- May be one day I'll visit also Brno, after two weeks I'll see Prague!

Flowery Winter Letter to Bree

I sent this letter to Bree a week ago. I had taken a picture through our bedroom window a couple of weeks ago when it was snowing, and I added the picture to the notepaper.

The second notepaper includes a picture taken on the day I wrote the letter: more snow, but not snowing any more.

Photos show the truth, but I'm waiting for the spring already and decorated the notepaper and the envelope according to that. :)
- And the spring IS coming: the snow has started to melt and today we had + 5 Celsius! :)

I attached the Easter stamp First Day Cover published on the day I sent the letter.
