Hanko

This fog card I sent to Ivana after receiving the Prague card  http://sfimail.blogspot.com/2011/01/small-version-of-pariss-eiffel-tower.html  from her. This card is of Hanko, the southest town of Finland, and I felt the card had the same atmosphere as the Prague card from Ivana.

  1. How do you get the cool effect of splotching out the words like you do?

  2. I'm using the free image manipulating program GIMP for this. You can upload it from Internet. There I mark the area, select Tools (or something like that, I'm using iPad right now so can't check :)) and from there Artistic and Cubism and that's it!
I'm glad to see also you like this effect! I have used it for this ever since I found GIMP.

  3. The first selection is Filter, instead of Tools, and then like I wrote: Artistic and Cubism.

  4. I love the fog postcard, it reminds me of early mornings in the country when all you can see is the faint outline of a cow grazing near the fence... I just love morning fog!
